How Long Is The Asbestos Abatement Process?
You may have just discovered that you have asbestos in your home, but you’re not sure what to do or how long it will take to remove them. Asbestos Project Management is here to help you!
When we arrive at a residential or commercial property for an asbestos inspection, we’re often asked how long it will take to remove the tiny fibers. We can’t always give an exact answer right away, because the abatement process is different for every job.
Our abatement process is simple, and we hope to get your family or employees back into the building within 48 hours from the start of the project. However, if it’s a larger job, the time it takes to get back on your property will be longer.
During the abatement period, we do ask that you vacate the property, as it’s not safe to be inside or on the premises during the removal process, depending on the severity of the contamination. While some of our clients are asked to leave vacate due to the size of the contaminated area, some never have to leave their property. On smaller asbestos removal jobs, we use industrial plastic sheeting to safely separate you from the contaminated area, while we’re working.
When our asbestos team works on any project, we ensure the air quality is safe, livable, and comfortable for everyone. Once the asbestos has been removed, we have a 48 hour window in which we test the air in and around your property many times to ensure there are no lingering asbestos fibers. Our Asbestos Project Management technicians will remain at your property until the level of air quality is less than 0.01 fibers per cubic centimeter achieved to ensure complete safety.
The abatement process is different for everyone, and our team is here to help keep your family safe. We’re dedicated to providing our clients with the least disruptive and fast asbestos abatement services possible. Asbestos Project Management will be able to diagnose your asbestos and mold exposure, schedule your inspection today.
