Plainfield, IL straddles the Will and Kendall County line has grown tremendously since the 1990s. Plainfield is the oldest town in Will County and before the population explosion of the 21st century, it was primarily an agricultural town.

The area was originally known as Walkers Grove until 1841 when it was named Plainfield. Later in the 19th Century the village was also a stop on the Underground Railroad during the Civil War. Abolitionists in Plainfield offered food and shelter to escaping slaves.

Today, Plainfield is home to many transplants from points north and east who are in search of a quieter lifestyle away from the hustle and bustle of the city of Chicago and its nearby south and western suburbs.

Many of the homes in the older parts of Plainfield were built before the 1980s using asbestos-laden building materials. We have removed asbestos from many homes in Plainfield and are always happy to service our hometown.
